Most med students survive on ramen and energy drinks. Randy Quinn has a different approach. On the morning of September 28th he posted two photos that stopped the channel cold: a coil of freshly-stuffed raw sausage snaking across a kitchen counter next to a Hakka food processing stuffer, followed by that same sausage — dozens of links — filling every inch of a pellet smoker grill. "Med school meal prep," was his entire caption.

A few hours later Randy was back with a plate of four finished dogs in varying styles — ketchup, mustard, whole-grain, and cream sauce — held aloft with the smoker visible in the Idaho backyard behind him. Randy Quinn had only just moved to Idaho and was already back in rare form. On September 30th he posted a plate of four home-smoked sausage dogs topped with crispy fried onions — his corgi eyeing the plate from the living room floor — and confirmed it was his first sit-down since the move. What made it land even harder was the context — nobody asked Randy to do it, there was no competition pressure, he just quietly cooked a mountain of homemade sausage and put in the work. Daniel showed up on the evening of August 3rd with something genuinely different: four hot dogs smeared in a vivid pale-green spread, photographed in front of the oven clock reading 6:59. The topping turned out to be Melissa's homemade seitan — a plant-based creation that looked almost alien next to the usual ketchup-and-mustard crowd.

While most of the channel was logging their daily Oscar Meyer and calling it a night, this entry stood out for the sheer effort behind it. Homemade seitan dogs dressed in a striking green sauce is the kind of swing the Year of the Glizzy archive was made for.

While everyone else was reaching for a store-bought bun, Randy was in the oven. He posted a tray of a dozen pale, pillow-shaped blobs baking away — homemade rice flour buns, made with yeast, oil, and ambition. The first test run yielded something denser than hoped and prone to falling apart, but by late that same evening he had three of them on a plate, filled with sausages and wholegrain mustard, looking actually pretty good.

Tilor immediately questioned whether rice + sausage technically constitutes a musubi. Randy pushed back hard, then Googled it, then kind of admitted the line was blurry. The group verdict was that it's both a hot dog and a musubi simultaneously, which is either a philosophical breakthrough or a loophole. Randy is already planning version two with tapioca starch as a binder. The invitation for a glizzy party at his place — with homemade buns and Smash Bros — is now officially on the table.
