Randy Quinn Hits 250 Hot Dogs โ€” and the Server Owes Him an Apology

On October 5th, Randy Quinn crossed the 250-hot-dog milestone โ€” a genuine achievement in Year of the Glizzy โ€” but the moment was briefly overshadowed by a bot glitch. A server timeout caused by Randy's own glizzy clicker bot double-logged a batch of four dogs, inflating his count and briefly confusing the leaderboard. Daniel spotted the duplicate entry (two identical four-dog logs just 14 seconds apart in the database), cleaned it up, and fixed the clicker bot to boot.

Once the dust settled, the milestone was legit. Randy posted a screenshot of the bot's celebratory message โ€” "You now have 250 hot dogs, Randy Quinn! ๐ŸŒญ" โ€” along with a plate of four cream-cheese-laden brioche dogs, a very alert corgi watching from the background. ChallengeXcepted had already warned him days earlier to protect his third-place buffer. With 250 confirmed, the race stays on.

Randy Wears the Glizzy Shirt to Medical School Orientation

Most people show up to their first day of medical school in business casual. Randy showed up repping Year of the Glizzy. On July 27th, he dropped that single sentence into the channel โ€” "Wearing my year of the glizzy shirt to medical school orientation" โ€” and let it land. No photo, no context needed. The commitment speaks for itself.

It's the kind of move that tells future doctors everything they need to know about a person's priorities. Somewhere in a lecture hall full of aspiring physicians, the glizzy flag was planted.

ChallengeXcepted Is Five Dogs Away From Triple Digits

On July 26th, ChallengeXcepted posted a matter-of-fact update that sent a ripple through the channel: "5 more until I hit triple digits!" The milestone had been quietly closing in for weeks, and suddenly it was right there โ€” a three-figure hot dog count dangling just out of reach. By the looks of his output that week alone โ€” char-grilled dogs with caramelized onions, a beautifully seared solo frank, early-morning ketchup runs โ€” he wasn't slowing down.

The race dynamic added some extra spice. Tilor clocked in with a bemused "What the โ€” I got passed," and Daniel started cheerfully trash-talking on mikvelv's behalf, noting he might catch Randy in the overall count. ChallengeXcepted's response was measured and confident: "Just pacing myself ๐ŸŒญ." Triple digits were a matter of when, not if.

shinypiplup Accidentally Hits 400 โ€” With a Grilled Cheese Dog

Tilor announced it on the morning of July 21st: the group was "one dog away from the big 400." By that night, shinypiplup had crossed the milestone โ€” except they'd miscounted and accidentally gone one over, making dog number 401 the accidental landmark. The 400th, however, was something special by accident: a pan-grilled hot dog bun slathered in four globs of melted mozzarella, the wiener barely visible beneath the bubbling cheese. "My 400th dog is extra unhealthy," shinypiplup wrote. "The only condiment is 4 globs of mozzarella that I grilled. I guess I made a grilled cheese."

The overshoot wasn't the first time shinypiplup had miscounted โ€” a night earlier, the same thing happened, prompting the sheepish message "oops. i did one too many." At this point it's practically a shinypiplup tradition. The 400-dog milestone may be a fuzzy number, but the photo of that golden, cheese-draped dog sizzling in a pan at 11:39 PM is crisp.

Beach Dogs on the Eve of the Fourth

With 4th of July one day out and six months of the challenge officially in the books, theweasel1337 took the celebration to the sand. Two caramelized-onion dogs in cardboard trays sat on a blanket facing open ocean, a lone beachgoer and crashing waves in the background. Sandals off, dogs out โ€” the picture is pure summer.

The timing was no accident. The group had just marked the halfway point of the year, with ๐“’๐“ป๐“ฒ๐“ผ๐“น๐”‚ ๐“›๐“ฎ๐“ฝ๐“ฝ๐“พ๐“ฌ๐“ฎ noting "6 months down... 6 to go" and Tilor already hyping the Fourth as "a big day for dog consumption." Consider this the official opening act.
